F.A.Q.s
What time should I arrive for the 8:45 am Sunday Service?
It would be great if you arrived by around 8:30. This will give us time to meet you, introduce you to some of our members, and answer any questions you might have.
Where should I park?
The Church has two parking lots available for you to park in. There is a paved lot adjacent to the Church and a gravel lot just across Union Church Road.
How should I dress?
We are very much casual dress. You will fit in no matter what you’re wearing.
What door should I enter through?
The main door is at the front of the Church but if you would rather not walk up the stairs to the door, you can enter at the side door that is adjacent to the parking lots.
Our History
Our church is located west of Edinburg in what is now the village of Columbia Furnace, Shenandoah County, VA. The village of Columbia Furnace is a community that developed around a nineteenth-century iron furnace. The Columbia Furnace Union Church was built in 1873.
Do you have Sunday School?

Do you have a Kid’s program?
Yes, we have a “Little Disciples” program for ages 2-8 and we meet each Sunday. Children will leave the sanctuary just prior to the sermon portion of our worship time. They will participate in activities such as singing praise/Bible songs, saying prayers, listening to a short Bible story, and coloring/making a craft.
What kind of music do you use?
Most of our music is traditional hymns. Occasionally we will share a contemporary praise and worship song.

Our worship service typically last 60 minutes. The first Sunday of the month may last a few minutes longer since we share in Holy Communion.
